Are you looking for the best whitewater rafting in Colorado?

Choose the Royal Gorge half day or full day on the Arkansas River in Canon City, Colorado. Your Royal Gorge check-in point is at the River Runners Royal Gorge Rafting Center– a scenic one hour and 30 minute drive from Breckenridge, Colorado. All Royal Gorge rafting trips raft under the tallest suspension bridge in America. The Royal Gorge Bridge is over 1,000 feet above the Arkansas River. Full Day Royal Gorge trips take about 6 hours and include a delicious riverside buffet. Half day Royal Gorge rafting trips take about 3 hours round trip.

You must listen well and be willing to paddle if you want to participate in a Royal Gorge whitewater rafting trip. Your Colorado state-certified whitewater rafting guide will teach you the whitewater basics and call commands from the back of the raft. Minimum age is 14 depending on the water levels of the Arkansas River. Previous whitewater rafting experience is recommended, but not required. All rafting participants must be in good physical condition.

The beginning of this Royal Gorge rafting trip starts with several small class II rapids where everyone can practice their paddling skills before the long continuous class IV-V rapids found in the canyon of the Royal Gorge. This section of the Arkansas River has a class IV-V rating, but the rapids are considered class IV at most water levels. Only at high flows do the rapids in the Royal Gorge reach the class V rating at which time restrictions can apply. Please call for up-to-date flow information prior to booking your Royal Gorge rafting trip.
