The traditional kick-off weekend for whitewater rafting in Colorado has always been Memorial Weekend and this year is no different. The kick-off to summer in Buena Vista, Colorado is the annual CKS PaddleFest. This year’s event is May 23 – 26 and will again benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Chaffee County. PaddleFest offers an interactive and hands-on experience centered on all ages ranging from family-friendly to expert-level. The multiple location venues include a flat-water demo, on-water education, river competitions, multi-sport races, free demos, and live music.
River Runners will host the second annual CKS PaddleFest Race to the Grill. This four-mile sprint race is on the class II Milk Run section of the Arkansas River and is open to kayaks, duckies and stand-up paddleboards. Onsite registration starts at 11:00 am on Monday, May 26, 2014.
