Hiring: Experienced raft guides to run the Royal Gorge

River Runners is seeking experienced raft guides to run the Royal Gorge in Colorado. Peak season is from mid-June through August 15, but work is available Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Guides from other rivers must complete training and qualification runs with a River Runners instructor. Successful applicants will run both Bighorn Sheep Canyon (Class III-IV) and the Royal Gorge (Class IV-V) of the Arkansas River. Successful applicants will be friendly, dependable, and knowledgeable about whitewater rafting. A minimum of 750 miles (50 percent commercial and 50 percent training) must be logged to guide the Royal Gorge.
Colorado raft guide requirements
Experienced in-state applicants will need to provide a training log from a Colorado River Outfitter. Out-of-state applicants will need to submit a training log and complete the Out-of-State Guide Minimum Qualification Form. All commercial raft guides in Colorado are required to have a current First Aid and CPR certification (online courses are not accepted). Swift Water Rescue (SWR), Wilderness First Responder (WFR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and/or other advanced training is preferred.
