24 Hours in Browns Canyon – Overnight Rafting in Colorado
The 24 Hours in Browns Canyon is a great way to experience overnight rafting in Colorado. Both beginners and seasoned rafters will enjoy this wilderness adventure, which includes three meals (dinner, breakfast, lunch), group camping equipment, a personal dry bag, and rafting gear. Tents and sleeping bag/pad combos are available for rent through River Runners. This overnight rafting tour can depart any day of the week as long as you have at least six participants.
Day One – Overnight Rafting in Colorado
Includes dinner.
Check in at the River Runners Browns Canyon outpost at 12:30 pm. After everyone has read and signed the waiver, you will meet your guides and pack personal camping gear into dry bags. Your gear will be floated to camp by the gear boater. Walk down to River Runners’ private launch site for a safety orientation and paddle talk. Trips depart at 2:00 pm. Paddle into Browns Canyon until you reach camp, where you will set up your tent and enjoy the rest of the evening at a remote campsite under the stars. Fish the Arkansas River (you will need your own pole and a license), hike up a side canyon for a view of the surrounding 14,000-foot peaks, or relax by the campfire. Your guides will cook dinner and do dishes, while you relax and enjoy an evening with family and friends.Day Two – Overnight Rafting in Colorado
Includes breakfast and lunch.
Wake up to coffee, juice and a hot breakfast. Relax or explore, while your guides clean up and pack gear onto rafts. Run a few rapids, stop for lunch, then run some more rapids. Take out of the river at Stone Bridge Recreation Site (13 miles from the put-in) at about 1:00 pm. A 25 minute shuttle back to River Runners concludes the tour.-Jess on TripAdvisor
