Day One – Raft the Numbers section of the Arkansas River
Includes lunch and dinner.
Start your ultimate Colorado whitewater rafting trip at River Runners Browns Canyon – six miles south of Buena Vista. Meet at 8:30 am for check-in, then meet your guides and pack personal camping gear into dry bags. Your bags and other camping equipment will be transparted to camp via seperate gear rafts.
Next, travel a few miles north of Buena Vista to the put-in for The Numbers section of the Arkansas River. After a safety orientation and paddle talk, experience some of Colorado’s most continuous class IV-V whitewater. Stop for a catered riverside lunch prepared by your guides, and then continue through The Narrows and into Browns Canyon where you will camp. Once you have set up your tent, you can fish the Arkansas River (you will need your own pole and a license), hike up a side canyon, or relax by the fire. Your guides will set up the kitchen, cook, clean, and share their knowledge of the surrounding area’s history, wildlife, and geology.
Day Two – Raft Browns Canyon of the Arkansas River
Includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and hot springs.
The morning will bring the smell of brewing coffee and a hot breakfast. Relax or explore while your guides clean up, tear down the kitchen, and load the gear onto the rafts. Enjoy another day on the Arkansas River in Browns Canyon with some of the best class III whitewater in Colorado. After another full day of rafting, you will be transported back to River Runners. Here you can take a shower, play sand volleyball, and enjoy a meal at the Riverside Bar & Grill. Ask about our discounted soaking passes to the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort – just 5 minutes away.
Day Three – Raft the Royal Gorge of the Arkansas River
Includes breakfast and lunch.
The next morning you will need to be up early for coffee and a lighter breakfast. You will want to drive your own vehicle down to the Royal Gorge outpost in Cañon City. Here you’ll enjoy another full day of rafting Bighorn Sheep Canyon and the Royal Gorge. River Runners will transport you back to your car by 4:00 pm.
