Qualified Raft Guide Job

Rowing Experience Required
Adrift Adventures is seeking qualified raft guides for the 2012 rafting season to immediately row gear boats on multi-day rafting expeditions on the Green River and Yampa River in Dinosaur National Monument. Guiding customers on multi-day and daily rafting trips will also be required. Successful candidates will possess a strong work ethic, work well in a team environment, have the ability to offer genuine customer service and have a passion for the outdoors. Chosen applicants must pass a qualification run, and pass the Utah Guide License written exam prior to employment.

Raft Guide Training

No Experience Required
Become a certified raft guide in Colorado and Utah through the River Runners Raft Guide Training Program on the Arkansas River in Buena Vista, Colorado. Learn to navigate a raft, recognize and avoid river hazards, swim rapids, flip boats and practice rescue techniques during this intensive two-week course. Upon course completion, raft guide trainees will go to Jensen, Utah for an additional week of training in Split Mountain Gorge on the Green River. There are only a limited amount of positions available for the raft guide training program. Applicants are chosen with the intention to be hired by Adrift Adventures for the 2012 rafting season, but must successfully complete the guide training program, pass an on river qualification run, and pass the Utah Guide License written exam. Training is $500. Utah Guide License is $50. Personal equipment will also need to be provided/purchased by guide trainees after completion of the guide training course. Pro-deals are available through Adrift Adventures. A current Basic First Aid/CPR certification is required prior to the start of raft guide training on May 21, 2012.
