Colorado whitewater rafting
Raft any date May 1-Labor Day.

The Upper Arkansas River Basin Snowpack is 134% of average and water managers have started releases from Clear Creek and Twin Lakes Reservoirs to make room for the spring runoff.

Flows are already good for whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River and the water level is expected to be above average this spring and summer.

The annual runoff typically begins around the second or third week of May and the river usually remains high through the end of June.

High water makes the waves bigger and the rapids become more exciting. The best time to see these big flows is likely between the last week of May and the third week of June, but in a year like this it can go well into July.
